Last night, I wanted to knit something. The baby set I was knitting for my friend had come to a standstill, and her kids (twins!) have probably outgrown it by now. The hazards of knitting for children. I had been trying to unravel it in hopes of salvaging the yarn to make a baby blanket or something, but it was nearly impossible to unravel (the yarn is really bumpy and fuzzy and impossible to see how it goes).
So I dragged out the sweater I've had completely knitted for over 2 years, but hadn't finished putting together. Every time I'd tried to do the back seam (it has a seam across the top of the back), it started looking like crap, and I had to rip it out and start over. I got discouraged after like 5 attempts so it had been languishing in my knitting bag for literally 2 years (more or less, anyways). Last night I decided I was putting it together come hell or high water. Nice looking seam? Who cares! So I sewed it up and guess what? It looks okay! And it fits! It's a little short for my liking (think baby doll T-shirt, but made of yarn and with long sleeves). Now I just have to weave the short ends of the yarn in. Let's hope I can get it done in less than 2 years.
