It's snowing again.
So, news on the dishwasher front. It's finally installed, and we've washed the dishes twice so far. So far, so good! The DVD was cheesy funny. The woman on it was VERY happy to have a dishwasher. And very excited about it.

This morning we were hit with a big dump of snow. Well, not that big, I suppose. I think maybe an inch or 2? Hopefully it melted away during the day and we won't have to shovel tonight.

This is the dishwasher we ordered: Kitchen-Aid KUDI01ILWH. This is the dishwasher they delivered: GE PDW7712JSS. It looks nice! And, it has a higher suggested retail value than the one we ordered.

To make myself feel better I looked in Consumer Reports. While they didn't review the exact model we got delivered to our house, the two GE dishwashers they did review were rated lower than the KitchenAid we ordered. And, they cost more.

I already called to complain and have them switch it. They're coming tonight (a week after the first delivery) to switch it. Then we'll get it installed on Friday. So we'll have had a big dishwasher in a box sitting in our kitchen for a week and a half by the time it finally gets installed.

I just installed the Google Toolbar. I like it very much. It has a "Blog This" feature - you click the button, and it opens up your blogger window with the link to the page you were viewing already coded for you. It also has a popup blocker, which I never had before.

I'll give it a thumbs up.

It's a rainy, yucky day outside. I tried to take a picture but all I got was the reflection of my office.

The good news is tomorrow morning I'll have a new (work) computer!

Sometimes I sing silly songs about the cats.

"My name is Fosco Bosco,
and I'm a macho cat,
I like to wrestle my brother,
What do you think about that?"

I need to remember to do this more regularly. I'm on a business trip again, apparently this is where I get most of my best blogging done.

Last weekend we went to a cottage party, and I got 2 more dives under my belt. They weren't very deep, but my buoyancy control was pretty good, and I feel a lot more confident about diving on the cruise. It might be fun to go diving again before we go but I doubt we'll have a chance. I have a red bumpy rash all over my arms now, from the weeds in the lake. It's annoying.

I got a lot of stuff accomplished at home on Monday. Unpacked everything from the trip and cleaned out the coolers. Laid the scuba gear out to dry in the back yard. Tidied the floor upstairs. Vacuumed upstairs (including the mattress and pillows). Changed the bedding. Did the laundry. Weeded a bit in the back yard. I was pretty pleased with myself. Oh, I also mended the buttons on my 2 pairs of shorts - they were poorly sewn on and I made them a lot more secure.

Back from the trip. It was a busy busy week! While I was gone I found out there was an opening for the open water scuba training this weekend. Thursday night the plane landed at 6pm and Kenneth picked me up. We drove directly to the scuba store so I could try on the rental wetsuit and buy a mask and snorkel. That took most of the evening. Friday after work we went home, packed, and drove to Tobermory. Didn't get there till 11:30pm! Saturday and Sunday were completely full with scuba training. I'm a certified diver now, though! Yay! Between the business trip and the scuba diving I haven't really had a moment's rest.

This summer has been so incredibly busy. I haven't had time to weed the garden. The house is pretty dirty. The lawn is long. It's a sad state of affairs. Tonight we have to return the scuba gear but other than that we have no plans, so hopefully I'll be able to get something done around the house. I think weeding will be my first priority - that garden is looking SAD.

I'm away on a business trip this week. Last night I was packing for the trip and I think Gray (the cat) decided he didn't want me to go! (Sorry for the large image, I was in a rush when I uploaded it and I forgot to shrink it! Now I don't have access to the home computer to shrink it so we're stuck with it like this.)

Over the weekend we went to see Legally Blonde 2. It was cute, but definitely not as good as I remember the first one to be. I felt the characters were too over-the-top this time - it was like they took the characters from the first movie and exaggerated them.

I'm trying to decide what to do with my evening. I think I'll go do a bit of shopping - I'm hoping I can find some deals at TJ Maxx. Then exercise, then watch either Paradise Hotel or For Love or Money. Neither is particularly appealing, but I feel like watching TV. Maybe I'll just read Harry Potter in the hot tub instead. We'll have to see.

Last night my camera broke. First day of trying to use it for real. Luckily, the Radio Shack at the mall had another one so I was able to exchange it today for a fresh one.

Here's the first picture we took (with the first camera):

That puddle looks like a dude!

Here are a couple of images we got off the new camera (it was the floor model):

It looks like I'll need to get Blogger Pro to be able to upload pictures automatically. I may have to switch blog providers, because picture blogging is quite important to me. At least now I have comments figured out.
Today I got a new digital camera. It's very sweet. It's really small, and takes poor quality pictures. But I'll be able to carry it everywhere and post pictures here - once I figure out how.

Wow, it's been a long time since I posted.

I signed up for the "Calorie Stampede" at work. It's a contest where you're in a team of 4, and you get points for gaining, maintaining, or losing weight. I chose maintain, because I don't want to feel inclined to diet. The first weigh-in was today.

The first week of the contest is really next week, though. It's "Nutrition Week". We're supposed to follow Canada's Food Guide and attend a nutrition seminar. It's going to be hard to follow the food guide. But it'll probably be good to eat more fruits and veggies.

My 5K training program is going fairly well. I ran on the treadmill last night after work for 15 minutes, and walked the remainder, for a total of 34 treadmill minutes. 2.28 miles. So far my knees have been cooperating, so I'm happy about that.
