Clearly, I am not a prolific blogger. That's OK, though. There's probably nobody reading this anyways.

To catch you up since last time, I decided to stick with the old job. The risk was just far too great that I would absolutely despise the new one. I'm going to keep my eyes open though, and keep my options open. It was a big stress there and now that it's over, I feel much better. I've also got renewed motivation to perform well at the current job. This is a good thing.

This week I went to Cincinnati on a business trip. It was actually a good time! Kenneth drove me to the airport Monday morning and I arrived in Cinci around 11 a.m. Phoned my manager and arranged to meet at 2. Lazed around in my hotel room until noon, when I met Eran and Lee for lunch. Sandra was supposed to join us but she had an MEI emergency come up so she couldn't. I had a very bizarre Phad Thai for lunch. It was nothing like real Phad Thai, but it was tasty enough. I really wanted the Spinach Artichoke dip but I wasn't sure it would satisfy me in a meal-like manner. Now I've been craving that dip ever since. I should've just ordered it. After all, it was paid for by the company, so I could have had both it and the Phad Thai. Oh well. Anyways, then I met my manager, and we went over the presentation. Then, there was about an hour break before the meeting began, so I lazed around in my hotel room some more, and called home.

The speech by Rob was a lot better than I expected. Then we had a nice dinner, and afterwards, Chris (head of the social committee) convinced me to go out with the group for a few drinks. The group ended up being 4 of us. Me, Chris, that guy with the goatee whose name I can't remember, and Dave Walton. Chris knew the waitress and so she gave us a free pitcher of beer. :) We got home around 11pm. I thought I wouldn't be able to get up to go to the gym but I woke up spontaneously at 6:22 and went and ran 3.5 miles on the treadmill. I was so proud of myself.

The next day was pretty good as meetings go. In the evening we had a served dinner which was really nice. Then we held the Olympic games. It went over really well! Everyone seemed to have a good time. We even had lots of turnout. It was Mardi Gras that day (or as they call it in Cincinnati, Fat Tuesday) so for the after hours event a group of us (maybe 30?) went to a local bar called Red Fish which I guess is New Orleans themed. Tim (the big Kahuna) opened up a tab so we all got to drink for free. The bar closed at 12 (what's up with that??) and a hardy group of us (about 10-15) went on to another bar called the Have a Nice Day Cafe. It had a dance floor and we all danced. It was really fun. I got free drinks all night and got rather drunk. It's been ages since I did that so it was really nice.

Since my return I don't have too much to report. We went to see A Beautiful Mind last night - very enjoyable film. I was pleasantly surprised, I guess I was expecting it to be a bit melodramatic and drawn out. It was a little melodramatic but not to the extent I'd been fearing. I liked Russell Crowe's performance but I was constantly distracted by the mole in the middle of his eyebrows. How unfortunate for him.

Spent the day cleaning and moping around today - the inlaws are coming to visit tomorrow. For 10 days. Can I say ugh?
